This product is a pre-cut set of acoustic materials especially designed for the Antec SLK3700 BQE (Black Quiet Edition) tower case.
The BQE has been designed by Antec with quiet operation in mind - with features such as a quiet Antec PSU, HDD mounting grommets to minimise vibrational case resonance, a solid front door over 5¼ inch drive bays, rubber feet, and accommodation for 2 x internal 120mm case fans as standard (with gel fan mounts).
The pre-cut AcoustiPack for the BQE adds to the quiet features built in to this case to help create a case that will run almost silently with along quiet quiet components. This is a very full and detailed kit. For example, the soundproofing materials form double-layer of noise protection on the front of the case (one layer behind the 5¼ inch door, and another behind the 5¼ inch drive covers).
The kit consists of 5 acoustic foam blocks, and 11 shaped pieces of acoustic composite. The kit also contains an additional washable dust filter - which improves the air filtration on the existing air filter in the front of the case.
Some of the foam blocks are optional depending on how many internal components are installed. The acoustic foam pieces are designed to occupy unused void space inside the case, and serve to reduce internal case volume and absorb internal operational noise. For example, fitting of one of the large blocks supplied into the void area under the HDD cage (which is rotated 90° to 'normal' drive cage orientation) serves to 'duct' airflow from the front of the case through the HDD cage, therefore aiding HDD cooling by increasing air flow velocity.
Fitting Directions v1.0 578Kb
Once you have the pre-cut kit for the Antec SLK 3700 BQE, work out where each part fits in the case and fit ONLY in the order shown on the instructions because some parts will NOT fit if installed before others!
The washable air filter with the BQE kit requires a few cuts with scissors to separate it along the perforated 'L' shaped cut in it. This is fairly quick and easy to do.
Please take care to read the fitting directions before assembling this product. It is the responsibility of the machine builder to position the materials appropriately to facilitate the normal functioning of internal components.
